Transform your text to a memorable, powerful story that readers will love
Give readers a story that will have them foaming at the mouth for a sequel
LET ME KNOW IF THIS SOUNDS FAMILIAR…You’ve spent months, possibly years working on your novel, but something isn’t quite clicking. Maybe you can’t quite get the hang of showing rather than telling, maybe your characters just don’t jump off the page, or perhaps you can’t get the pacing right. You’ve gone as far as you can get on your own and you don’t know how to take your story to the next level.
In a crowded market, The Book Clinic helps your novel stand above the pack
Getting a book published nowadays is beyond tough. Traditional publishing has one of the highest barriers to entry of any industry. Agents get hundreds of queries a month, and request less than 10% of them. They hand out offers of representation to less than 1% of those requested. Getting your big break typically necessitates spending years grinding away and collecting hundreds of rejections. Why not give your book its best chance at being one of the lucky few by hiring a former industry professional?
Indie publishing is even more competitive, swamped with low-quality books with poor reviews and nonexistent sales. The indie market moves extremely quickly, and readers will drop your novel like a bad habit if it’s riddled with typos or lacking story structure. You only get one first impression with your reader, and a single mistake could have them demanding a refund.
Are you:
-
Tired of wasting months querying a book that still needs work?
-
Discouraged at the fact that agents have requested your manuscript only to reject it part-way through?
-
Afraid of putting your heart and soul into your novel, only to rack up bad reviews?
-
Tired of posting listings for an editor on third-party sites like Upwork only to receive sub-par services?
-
Frustrated with editors taking six months to give you your editorial letter?
The Book Clinic's writing coaching was created for you!

Having apprenticed under some of the top literary agents in NYC, I know not only what makes a good, compelling story, but exactly what literary agents, publishing houses and magazines are looking for from submissions. I'm a graduate of Princeton University, where I studied English and Creative Writing. At university, I studied under best-selling authors and creative writers, all leaders in their genres. I have three years of experience as a professional editor and proofreader, and in that time, I’ve edited dozens of fiction and non-fiction manuscripts. Thus, I know how to polish a story to a professional shine. The knowledge I've gleaned and the secrets I've learned go far beyond what you can simply find on the internet and are helpful for those seeking any form of publishing.
Real, honest feedback that will take your writing to another level
At The Book Clinic, I make sure I get an understanding of your project, then implement your requests above and beyond. I’m quick, communicative, and provide insight that will help you strengthen your work. Professional and efficient, I use my literary expertise to make your book the best it can be. I’m here to make the editing process as painless as possible.
Every author needs a strong editor to unlock their vision

Let's Work Together
Helping people improve their stories and become rockstar writers is my passion and my first love. Make me happy by applying for my program today :)
I DO NOT accept poetry, essays, or non-fiction. I only work with fiction authors seeking traditional publishing. You can not have a novel that was previously self-published, re-published by a traditional publisher unless you sold 10,000+ copies within the first year.
Terms and Conditions
(Please Read)
All payments will go through PayPal via invoice, which means in addition to my fee, you will also pay a small fee to PayPal. As of January 1, 2020, the fee is 2.9%. Please go to the PayPal website for more details.
For all packages half the payment will be due upon sending pages and the other half will be due when your critique is completed. I will notify you when the critique is completed and send the edited document or query to you upon receiving final payment.
Please format your manuscript to industry standard formatting. This means: 1-inch margins all around, size 12 font (Times New Roman is preferred), double-spaced, with no extra spacing between paragraphs. I use Microsoft Word’s “Track Changes” function for my editing purposes. If you don’t have Microsoft Word let me know and we can work something out.
Disclaimer: Receiving a critique from me is in no way a guarantee that you will find representation, be published, or that your book will achieve bestseller status. I will help you improve your manuscript drastically, but unfortunately “making it” in this industry requires a healthy dose of luck and persistence as well.
For the Agent Prep Package and Manuscript Critique my turnaround time is two weeks after receiving your materials. The turnaround time for a Developmental Edit and Proofreading will be no more than four weeks. Copy/Line editing will be returned within six weeks, and subsequent passes within one week. If I have a backlog or anticipate not being able to turn around your manuscript within these parameters I will email you and let you know before the due date. I always endeavor to turn projects around on time, or even early (which I often do), but rarely I might have to ask for an extra few days. I appreciate flexibility on your part when this occurs. If you have an urgent deadline to meet, please let me know and I will ensure your work is delivered in time.
For Developmental Edits, I am willing to do a read-through of your novel once your revision completed and give you some guidance on how to proceed or if further revision is needed. Any additional rounds of editing can be purchased for a fee.
All submissions received are automatically assumed to be copyrighted by you, the author. I will never reproduce your words without your written permission, nor do you have to worry about me stealing your ideas. I do not sign NDAs, but before we begin working together we’ll both sign a contract with a legally binding copyright clause. It is important to realize that an editor-client relationship relies on trust. As the client, you have to trust that I am doing my job properly, working as fast as I’m able, and that I will not plagiarize from your work. If you would like updates throughout the process, feel free to convey all communication needs upfront and come to me with any concerns. Finally, I ask that you calculate what the price of your preferred package will be according to your word count before the process begins. Prices are non-negotiable, but I assure you that your novel is worth the money.
Note: Fees listed are approximate and liable to change depending on the current state and readability of your manuscript as well as genre.
